Clack collects as little as it can. There are no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no cookies.

On your device

Your settings, your Pro key and your message are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never leave the device, except as described below.

When you buy

Payment is handled by Stripe, and we never see your card. We keep your key, the Stripe checkout reference and the email you gave at checkout, so that we can resend a lost key or give a refund.

Messages

With Pro, a board can receive messages through its send link. We store the board’s latest message, its size and a hashed copy of the link’s token so the board can fetch the message. Each new message replaces the last one.

Trains, weather and place search

Your board asks Fintraffic for departures from the station you picked. For weather, our server asks MET Norway for the forecast at your place, rounded to about 1 km. Place search goes through our server to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim. Our server doesn’t keep these requests, and our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard short-lived request logs.

Your rights

To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email us. Deleting your purchase record also disables your key.
